Our approach: tuition that works for your family
École Montessori de Valence is a nonprofit. No shareholders, no profit margin. Every euro goes back into the school.
Our goal is to keep quality Montessori education accessible to as many families as possible, with trained educators, strong ratios, and a purpose-built environment.
Tuition is scaled to household income, so families in different situations pay different amounts. The French system uses what’s called a “quotient familial”, a standard measure that takes income and number of dependents into account. You can find yours in your CAF account or calculate it from your tax return. There’s also a calculator below.
2026/2027 Fees
⚠️ The fees below are annual. Payment can be spread over 10 or 12 months, paid in full, split in two, etc.
| Category | 1 child | 2 children |

| Enrollment fee (new families only — non-refundable) | €360 | |
| Re-enrollment fee (returning families only — non-refundable) | €120 | |
| Association membership fee (per legal guardian — minimum amount) | €50/guardian | |
| Bracket 1 – QF ≤ €1,000 | €4,600/yr | €8,050/yr |
| Bracket 2 – €1,001 < QF < €1,500 | €5,290/yr | €9,260/yr |
| Bracket 3 – QF > €1,500 | €6,090/yr | €10,660/yr |
Lunch, After-School Care, Committees
- Lunch: €5.50 per meal per child (or bring a packed lunch)
- Evening after-school care: €3 per hour per child
- One more thing worth knowing, and families often appreciate it most. Every family joins one of our committees, contributing 2 to 4 hours a month. The role fits the person: some write, some organize events, some handle finances. For families new to the region, it often becomes something they didn’t expect. A community, from the very first term.

Heads up: the amounts shown here are estimates. Your official family quotient, which factors in family benefits and tax deductions, is available through your personal CAF account.
How Enrollment Works
We welcome new families every year with a personal, hands-on approach.
1. Come to an Open House
We strongly encourage you to visit us at one of our Open House events, held every fall and late winter. Follow us on social media so you don't miss the next one.
You'll get to:
- Meet our teaching team
- Ask all your questions
- Tour the school
2. Submit an Application
After your visit, you're welcome to submit an enrollment application. Every application gets careful consideration. We take into account:
- Available spots in each classroom
- Your child's age and how they'd fit within existing age groups
- Most importantly, a shared understanding of and alignment with the Montessori approach
Our goal is to build a genuine, trusting relationship with every family, within an educational framework that puts each child first.
3. Enrollment Confirmation
Enrollment is confirmed through a conversation about:
- Your child's background and development
- Your expectations and any remaining questions
- How your family's vision fits with our educational philosophy
Once everything is a good fit, a school enrollment agreement is signed with the association.
A School Run by Its Families
Our school is community-driven: parents and educators run it together, day in and day out.
This model is what allows us to offer a high-quality environment for kids while keeping tuition fair.
For the school to thrive, everyone chips in, from finances and HR to scrubbing the cafeteria floor. Parents contribute in whatever way works for them: organizing events, fixing furniture, helping with communications, baking something for a school celebration...
We're looking for families who genuinely love the idea of building something together.
The more you're involved, the more the school will feel like yours. And that changes everything.
